Siwon Audi Mag interview

Siwon Audi Mag interview

Q: Hongkong Film awards in April, Singapore Chanel event in May, SS5 INA in June, you really travel here and there a lot but looks like you are doing well.
SW: I returned to Seoul after SS5 INA. Next week I am going to Hongkong for Super Junior's concert. I am getting used to the frequent traveling, I don't feel tired. I eat well every meal an work out often. I can handle it myself in this area.

Q: You have 'King of Drama' and SJM's activities in the first half of the year, what plans do you have for the second half?
SW: There is no plan for a new album so it will be more on acting. Although it's not confirmed yet, we are considering a few movies and dramas.

Q: Super Junior has released 6 albums since their debut in 2005. There are even more if we include the sub groups and singles. As a Super Junior member, When do you feel the most happiness and achivement?
SW: Every moment, I think that I am an useful person. When fans say that they feel consoled and courage when listening to our songs or watch us perform on stage, this is what my wish is. And I feel a greater sense of responsibilty. A recent example, during our concert tour in South America at the end of April. It was the first time korean singers hold a concert tour in Brazil, Argentina, Chile an Peru and most of the audience were locals. All 4 concerts were sold out. It was truly an amazing experience.

Q: Singing and acting, which one do you think you do better?
SW: Both are interesting. But rather than saying it's interesting, I slowly feel more responsibilities. Many people from different areas are looking at me. As for which one I do better in, I am not really sure. No matter what I am doing, where I am, I always try to do my best. And I also evaluate myself rationally. I know what my strong points are. When I am developing my strong points, I will also take note of my weakness and try to change it.

Q: Let's talk about your first movie/TV, how do you feel when you think back about acting with Andy Lau and Ahn Sungki in 'A Battle of Wits'?
SW: My first debut movie/tv was actually 2 years before this. It was the drama '18,29' in 2005, I acted as the main lead's younger self. After that then I did 'A Battle of Wits', I didn't choose it because it was an international film. Or should I say I didn't have a say in this. It was decided by a movie company who specialized at picking new actors for important supporting roles. It was a risk, and I am thankful till now. Now when I worry when I think about doing overseas projects but during that time, I didn't worry at all. It was like a dream.

Q: How did the crew of the movie treated you?
SW: At first they were curious. I was young and a new face, I joked and chatted with them with my mother tongue. On the days that I don't have any scenes, I will still go to the shooting venue to eat or chat. We got close quickly. Last year when I was in China filming a drama, a crew from the movie contacted me, told me that he was there too. We met each other again after 5 years.

Q: Do you practice Universal Love? (loving everyone and everything) Since you have more than 3 millions followers on Twitter... and you are sincere to everyone regardless of being close to them or not.
SW: Yes, I have more than 3.5 mil followers on Twitter now. Living sincerely with faith, posting good proverbs on Twitter and Weibo everyday. Hope that everyone who follows me will rediscover themselves and gain strength. Rather than saying I believe in Universal Love, it is more of respect and loving people.

Q: Do you love yourself like you love others?
SW: Of course I love myself. But if I work hard to strengthen my world, wouldn't I be trapping myself in it? I think I am more of 'others are better than me'. When I make decisions for myself, I will also ask the people around me, listen to others' opinions.

Q: Rational or emotional?
SW: It's balanced. I do things emotionally but I work hard to be a rational person.

Q: Why do you put so much heart into living? Super Junior's even joked about 'Siwon's Day' in a variety show before.

SW: Time management is important. I am strict with time management. Compared to wasting money, I hate wasting time more. When you waste some money, you can save it from somewhere else but you can save time if you waste it. When one is not working, one should follow the rule too, it is important to use personal time wisely. I am doing that now.

Q: Heard that there is something you must do everyday.
SW: 6am, 12pm and 6pm. 3 times a day I will pray. No matter where I am. And working out too. I don't feel comfortable if I don't work out, I can't sleep. There is an amount of energy in my body that I must use, if I don't spend it all on my exercises, my body will lose balance. Basically I like all kinds of sports. I learnt tennis not long ago and right now I am trying to understand cross fit.

Q: Is it intentional to project the 'Perfect Man' image?
SW: Not really. It is endless to meet others' expectations. I am working my best to meet my own expectiations. I should say even if I didn't meet my own expectations, it's fine as long as I did my best. Growing up in a good environment, living a life with everything I need... it all doesn't matter. I hope to be someone extraodinary, reversed. James Dean is not handsome everday too. When I am with friends, I can be funny, it's nothing big really. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are the same too.

Q: That reminds us of the role you did in 'King of Drama'.
SW: It is like a turning point. Initially Kang HyunMin wasn't supposed to be like this. But we changed the tone after discussing with the director. To make it more interesting. It reflects how I am normally. I should say I play more during normal times. Super Junior members and managers said that I can do this role with ease (since the role is like the real Siwon). Of course the company hopes that I do a handsome role instead.

Q: What do you think of your celebrity life after 8 years?
SW: The bubble burst, feels like it's being sliced off. I looks at things more realisticly now, I have different views from people of my age. As an artist, it is my strength to be able to fit into any situation. I can fit into and catch the rhythm of any shows you send me to. Doing music, talking with the MCs, shooting pictorials, it's different everytime. Each time I work with different people.

Q: Afraid of strangers?
SW: It is serious. Others think that I am not afraid of strangers. Indeed, it's fine to chat with someone I am meeting for the first time. But to really have a talk heart to heart takes a long time. However I will take the initiative, hoping to communicated through hearts.

Q: What kind of son are you?

SW: I am the kind of son who do what I need to do, working hard hard to be like a friend. I am my dad's son, of course I understand my dad, understanding him like a man too. But it is not like I understand him more as I grow older. There are some things that I can never understand. We live in different worlds for a very long time. I came to this circle (entertainment) since my teenage years. So I work hard to understand him through words, slowly our relationship becomes friendly, like friends. I have a very close brother, he calls my father 'hyung'. The relationship becomes more interesting.

Q: What do you do when you are free?
SW: I am busier when I am not working. If I am to plan for tomorrow, I will have coffee after morning prayers, then read the bible, study a foreign language, play tennis, afternoon prayers, have lunch, work out in the afternoon, evening prayers, have dinner... like this. I travel a lot when I work so I try to do more things when I am in Seoul.

Q: Do you like to drive?
SW: Of course, I started driving when I was 20. My first car was Audi TT. When I became Audi's ambassador, I bought the TT during the launching show. I drove it for 4 years. Now I am driving the R8 Spider. Personally, changing to a bigger car feels like I have become bigger too. Both physically and mentally.

Q: Where do you go with the R8 normally?
SW: There are a few roads that I like to drive on. (A bunch of Korean road names in Chinese that I can't translate, I will try to translate them again later)

Q: The next time I see an R8 on these roads, I will think it's you. Who will be sitting next to you?
SW: No one. Alone in the middle of the road. Ah, I am with my parents sometimes.

Q: What is your biggest weakness?
SW: Weak in relationships. It should be clear when building or ending a relationship. But sometimes I can't do it. I am still working on it. It's better to hurt now then hurt in the long run.

Q: Sounds like you had a break up before.
SW: I had a girlfriend before but I don't have one now. I think this is a period for me to prepare to meet a better person.

Q: Do you think of marriage?
SW: Actually I want to get married now but I am not confident.

Q: What do you think about normally?
SW: I think every moment is a learning period. There are times when I am in a bad mood, or times when things don't go smoothly. But I am thankful for the things I learn from it. Continuing to learn is what I am doing now.

Q: It is interesting to talk to Choi Siwon.
SW: Right, that was it. (laughs)

Q: What are your future schedules?
SW: Received Audi's invitation, I will be going to France at the end of June. I heard that it will be one of the 3 biggest car races of the world and has a long history. It will be my first time attending a car race. It should be interesting and I will get to understand cars more. I have also made a jacket for the event.

Yes! Magazine - Henry

Yes! Magazine with Henry

Q: What do you do alone at home?
H: Besides eating and sleeping, I compose songs most of the time. I have a recording studio at home. So when I am not eating or sleeping, I will be composing in there.

Q: What do you eat when you are alone?
H: I eat different stuff everyday but my favourite is Chinese food. Like fried dumplings, chicken feet, I love food like this! But we don't have this in Korea so I must eat it if I come to Hongkong.

Q: What do you do when you are alone in a car?
H: Listen to music and think about my fans.

Q: Where do you compose music when you are alone?
H: In the recording studio at home.

Q: When kinds of music to you listen to when you are alone?
H: Happy song, English ones.

Q: Do you watch movies alone?
H: I won't watch movies alone, I will watch it with friends.

Q: What kinds of movies do you normally watch?
H: Romance, and I definitely will not watch horror flicks.

Q: Which member would you go shopping with?
H: Siwon! He is very rich! He will pay for me! It will be best to buy a car with him, just joking!

Q: Who will you get to go Kara-ok with you?
H: Kyuhyun, he sings very well and he likes to play.

Q: Who will you go traveling with?
H: Girlfriend! But I don't have one now! So I will look for Donghae because he takes care of me a lot. I feel very relax with him, very comfortable.

Henry: It was the company's idea. When they asked me if I want to sing with Kyuhyun and Taemin, I was very happy! Kyuhyun is my group's member and I have known Taemin for a long time. I stayed with him in the dorm for more than a year. We know each other well but we have never stood on the stage together before. So I was very happy when I heard about it and said OK immediately. Kyuhyun sings very well, Taemin sings very well too and dances very well, so I feel fortunate to work with them and really thankful for their help.

Henry: This story is funny, I was preparing for my own solo album when I composed 'Love That I Need'. This song was composed for myself. The one day Donghae came to my home and I was working on this song. After hearing it, he asked me what is this song and I said it's for my new solo album. He looked at me and told me that this song is really nice. That he and Eunhyuk are preparing for their new single and hope that I can give them this song. I said 'No No... This is my song'. Then he kept asking me, pestering me for one week. Finally, I can't take it anymore and said 'ok, I will give it to you' and he was very happy!

After giving Donghae the song, Henry even featured in that song. Henry: It was my first time composing a Japanese song, I wasn't sure what the outcome will be. After recording, I think it's really nice and they sang it well! But during recording, there was a high-pitch part and Eunhyuk forced his vocals too much. In the end he recorded it for 30, 40 times before it passed. Donghae kept teasing him at the side, it was very funny. Recently, I composed many songs but nobody wants to sing my songs! There are many singers that I hope to work with, like I really hope to work with Boa, she is really awesome, I have 2, 3 songs that suits her. I would like to give them to her.'
'If there are any singers who would like to work with me, please look for SM to contact me!'

3 big boys filming a MV together, there must be some interesting stuff that happened but Henry says: 'Nothing happened! We are all boring people! But there was once when I had a recording in Korea and Kyuhyun was going to perform with me but he was in China at that time and didn't manage to catch the flight back. He didn't perform with me in the end, I did it alone. I know that he wants very much to come and he ran but still he didn't manage to catch the flight.' Henry is very thankful to Kyuhyun and Taemin who have helped him in the recordings.

Except his 2 brothers, the other members of Super Junior support Henry to debut as a solo. Henry: On the first few broadcast recordings, all the members of Super Junior came to see me, support me. During the preparation for the new album, the members also helped me a lot. They gave suggestions for my performance and Kangin suggested that my hair wasn't bright enough so I dyed it to this colour. Kyuhyun also gave me comments during recording like he taught me to sing with more force on certain parts. Donghae taught me dancing. He said that I danced like the back up dancers and told me to have my own style. Everyone takes care of me. So this time my solo album is not my own album, it's an album with the combined efforts of all SJ members. Or I should say I am the performer and they are the ones who helped me behind the scenes.

We can see that Henry has a lot of fans during his performance at the Hongkong Dome. But he says that he hopes to attract more fans, especially mama fans. Henry: 'I want to do my best for Trap promotions and I hope that in future not only young fans like me. I hope to spread my music to more people, more people will listen to my songs. Like if there are people around my mum's age who listen to my songs, like my songs, I will be very happy!'

Besides music, there are other areas that Henry wants to try, like acting. Henry:'If there is a chance, I want to try acting too. If there are any production teams who are interested in me, have good scripts, please look for me! I don't pick roles as long as it's the main lead. Hahaha.'
Henry is so humourous, look for him for comedies!

Henry: Previously I didn't know that I am the first solo singer of SM for the last 13 years. I didn't have much pressure at first but after hearing that, I felt pressured. From then on, I was nervous everyday. Although I was stressed, when I go on stage, I still tried my best to show the best side of me. I think it wasn't too bad.

130717 Cosmo 20 SJM Interview

Siwon

Q: How will you proof your ability?
SW: I think whatever we do, we must prioritize. What to do first and what to do last. This is something that I learnt recently. To me, nothing comes naturally. If you do your best to achieve it, god will take care of you. When others see your sincerity, they will acknowledge you too.

Q: What is the thing that you want to do most right now?
SW: Sharing. Because I have received a lot of love, so now I want to use many ways to share this love. If we have a motive, the goal will appear automatically. I already have my motive, therefore my goal has been achieved.

Q: Many people say that Siwon's trademark is his smile. What kind of energy do you thinking smiling can give you?
SW: I smile because I am happy, really happy when I smile! For people, we should be be happy and harmonious when we are together, this is very important. And what is amazing is if we smile often, people around you will smile too and good fortune will come along.

Q: What is your definition of a handsome gentleman?
SW: Gentleman, it is not a confidence that you achieve from your physical figure or putting effort in your fashion. In the past, I only wear clothes well but now to think about it, that is just an empty shell. We should feel happiness from our hearts, take care of others, then will we walk out of our 'shells'. People with a good heart will look like a gentleman.

When we look at older people, we wonder how they lived all these years. We can tell from their faces. Those uncles who look handsome has a harmonious, kind face and an air of ease around them. I have been learning this all this while. Of course, you must still take care of your appearance.

Q: Are you happy with your situation now?
SW: I will respect any form of existence. I have faith recently so I don't feel unhappy with anything these days.

Donghae

Q: What sort of things will increase your desire to create?
DH: Till now, I have only produced music. Recently, I have taken an interest in filming. When I am working out or when I am walking around and I see something interesting, I will record it, even if it's only something simple. When watching a movie or friends' concerts, I will learn many things and many inspirations will come along.

Q: Anything happened recently that moved you to tears?
DH: Recently, I watched a few movies which made me shed a lot of tears. For example, The Saddest Separation (literal translation), it was really sad, I cried many times. I choose the movies according to my mood at that time, members will also recommend me movies. I cry when I watch a touching film but I feel happy too. It's like smiling with tears, this happens more often.

Q: How to you release stress?
DH: Recently I have a lot of stress. To me, everyday is hard, so sometimes I will intentionally not do anything. People sometimes feel like they don't want to do anything at all, there are things that we have to do but we just don't feel like doing it, it happens sometimes. Recently I run a lot on the streets or strolling because the weather has been good. I meet my friends a lot, do sports with the members like basketball or soccer, I release stress like this.

Q: 3 lines that you speak best in Chinese?
DH: Forever together, Dear darlings, Call me. (lmao)

Q: Are you really a guy who does aegyo a lot?
DH: Yes, I am the kind who does aegyo. For aegyo, compared to those who say 'yiyi yaya' when doing aegyo, I have my own style. I hope to do aegyo with my girlfriend, to each other, I like that kind of happy feeling. If doing aegyo together can give us feelings of happiness, I will do anything for it.

Eunhyuk

Where ever he goes, he is always full of manners, this hasn't changed. He bows and greet everyone when he meets us. He will also bid us goodbye with '520, I love you' which he just learnt. Just like what he said, he is good at listening so he will receive the questions well and then reply in a most sincere or cutest way. On the day of the interview, the photographer used a ring-shape lighting equipment. The bright lights prompted the manager to keep reminding Eunhyuk that he just had an eye surgery so he can't look at the cameras. But for the best results of the photos, Eunhyuk still stole a few glances at the camera. When the photographer said 'OK', he stumbled towards the computer and started drawing circles in the air. "Ah, I can't see anything, there are so many circles!" Our Jewel handsome man, it shines where ever you are!

Q: Does dancing still have that fatal attraction to you?
EH: To be honest, I am happiest when I am dancing. As a dancer, I want to show better and nicer dances to everyone. If you remove dancing from my life, my life will be boring.

Q: You are very humorous, are you born with it or did you learn it?
EH: I think I am borned with it! The sense of humour cannot be trained, an uninteresting person will remain uninteresting no matter what. (Discreetly) Our member, Sungmin, is really uninteresting, someone like him will never become interesting. So I think I am really lucky. I think not only for men but for everyone, there should be some sense of humour so life will become more relaxing and happier.

Q: A humorous guy like you must be popular around girls.
EH: I think so that humorous people are more popular. But when I meet a girl for the first time or when I am with the girl that I like, I will not be able to show the humorous side at first, it takes awhile before I can start to be funny. Handsome men don't need to show their sense of humor right from the start.

Q: How to achieve your sense of humour?
EH: The secret? I think I am able to listen carefully to what others are saying, take note of what others are thinking, then I match them and make everyone laugh. I make jokes verbally more. I can't really do body gags.

Q: What is the happiest thing since debut?
EH: Making lots of money, an buying an apartment for my parents was the happiest thing. Even though I feel happy too when I achieve something in my job, I really wanted to make a lot of money since debut to buy an apartment for my parents to live comfortably in. I achieved this dream not so long ago so I am really happy.

Sungmin

Q: How will you describe your personality?
SM: I am not sure of my own personality, I think I haven't discover it. I think fans like me because I work hard, keep improving myself. Could it be that my personality is working hard? I should be a frank person. On broadcasts, many artistes use stylized phrases, for fun and to show something special. But this is difficult for me.

Q: What kinds of traits to you look out for when making friends?
SM: I will take note if the other person is someone who takes care of others, a kindhearted person. If that is so, I will get closer to them. On the other hand if that person doesn't take care of others, doesn't care about others feelings, I will reject them.

Q: How will you describe your personality?

Q: As the 'one and only Sungmin' of SJM, what is your speciality?
SM: Ah, this is so difficult. The members are all amazing. Ah! My speciality is my baby face. (laughs) The members have been telling me lately that my face didn't change since debut. (Are they jealous?) This can't be helped.

ZhouMi

Zhoumi's memory is scary. Even for the people he has only met once, he can remember the name of the person, the location and other etails. He can be a detective if he isn't a singer. Not sure if it is tiring for him to remember so many things but it is certainly sweet to the person whom he remembers.

Q: Do you set long term goals for yourself?
ZM: Short term! I think long term goals are not reliable because we can only see our current situations so it is still better to have short term goals. You can see the results, it's more realistic. Actually celebrities cannot do things as they want to. So I follow my own footsteps, fulfilling them one by one, moving forward.

Q: Do you care about others valuation of you?
ZM: I don't really care for others' valuation of me, I care more about how I value myself. Sometimes we have to believe in our own point of view. I see myself realistically. What is good is good, what is bad is bad. But I look forward to the future very much! When I was in university, there was this message. You might not succeed if you put in effort but you will definitely not succeed if you don't put in effort at all. So you already have 50% success when you take the first step. The rest will depend on the amount of effort you put in.

Q: From your book, Thai Perfect, we can tell that you love travelling. What does travelling brings you?
ZM: Relaxing! I will bump into fans, didn't encounter anything romantic yet, haha. I didn't graduate from college and became an artiste, actually an artiste is just like any other white collar worker, there are a lot of pressure too, travelling can relax myself. Going to a foreign place, experiencing something new, can fully relax a person. Going to Thailand for Super Show after debut, it was charming, and going to Europe later on, it was really interesting.

Q: We often see you smile, are you hiding anything behind those smiles?
ZM: I love to smile because my mum told me we must live happily. She said singing is something I like to do but if singing has become a burden to me because of some other reasons, then she would rather that I not do it and live a simple life. If you like to do this then do it happily. So no matter what the end result is, the process is always happy, fulfilling and special.

Donghae - 韩Fun Magazine

Why did you decide to take the role in Hedgehog & Panda?
First, I really love eating and cakes. I am happy to participate in a drama with such contents. My role in the drama is a talented patissier and the personality is close to mine. I would like to challenge it so I participated.

What kind of role is Mr Hedgehog?
Mr Hedgehog keeps his sadness within himself and he gets hurt easily. His personality is very similar to mine, so I want to try this role. I thought it will be good if I can do this role well. The way he walks, talks, laughs, cries and angers were written very closely to my character. Even though acting is very difficult, I think it is meaningful that I am doing the role of Mr Hedgehog, I love the role. I like his personality. It is cute and because he doesn't talk well, he has difficulties expressing himself. It is a good character.

When you first read the script, what was your impression and worries?
It was fine when I first read the script but I felt a little worried. Am I able to digest the role well? I felt stressed because it was my first time acting a lead role. Many sunbaes took part in this drama, as the main lead, I felt that I must do a good job. Even though it's a drama that I want to do very much, I felt pressured when I read the script. I was very worried but I received a lot of help from people around me. Really thankful.

You acted well with Yoon Seung Ah, was it the first time working with her?
Yes, it was the first time working with her and she took good care of me. I felt relaxed, I am her dongsaeng. Soon Ah has more experience in acting, she taught me many things, like an elder sister, a close friend. Seung Ah is very thoughtful and cute, sometimes she is like my dongsaeng, she took great care of me.

Which scene do you have a deep impression of?
In the first ep, the scene where Seung Ah fell from the stool and I had to catch her. When watching it on TV, it looks beautiful but it was really difficult during shooting. Soon Ah thought it was scary and didn't know what to do. I remember we had this problem.

Choi Jin Hyuk and Yoo So Young are of the same age, how was the atmosphere at the shooting?
I can become friends with anyone. I may feel awkward with people during the first meeting but I will take the initiative to greet them because I want to become closer to them sooner. Not like acquaintances who just say bye after shooting. We can become closer by greetings and it will be better for the shooting isn't it? If we don't do that, we won't be able to understand each other during the shoot. The actors, the crew, Seung Ah, So Young... there are many who become closer. It was incredible that I became close to Yang Hee Kyung on the first meeting. Really thankful to everyone, the atmosphere during shooting was good. Everyone was like friends. There were people whom I worked with before and friends like So Young. The atmosphere during the shoot is not inferior to other shooting teams.

Being an actor must have different enjoyment as being a singer, which one makes you happier?
Like I mentioned, acting is very difficult.... but I have been wanting to be an actor since high school. Acting is difficult and stressful, and gives me headaches but I am still very thankful to perform this role. If I go for shooting 5 days a week, I will do other stuff on the other 2 days, practice for the concerts. Actually I have shootings 4 to 5 days a week then I will leave for concerts on Fridays, my life is still continuing like this. I receive many new pleasures from acting and I am happy too when I spend time with the fans during concerts. So I am thankful to be able to do both. I will work even harder from now on, bringing new productions and songs for my fans as gratitude.

What kinds of encouragement did SJ members give you?
Members always say things like 'What time is your shooting tomorrow? You are back so late today'. I always reply with 'I am so tired'. Members will say 'Really? But you still have to go tomorrow'. Even though the members joke a lot, they gave me a lot of suggestions. Members without acting experience will encourage me by saying 'Fighting for your drama shoot'.

What kind of style is the OST?
I took part in 2 OST for this drama. I was thinking about what presents I can give to fans during the shoot. I felt that I am still lacking after the shoot so I sang in the OST as a gift to fans. I have composed 2 songs for the OST. One song has a sad feeling and the other song has a cute style. Both songs appear in the drama.

What can we look forward to in the drama? And tell us the charm of it.
You can see beautiful cakes and the love relationship between Seung Ah and me, very romantic, an awesome relationship. I think this has the most charm.

Please say something to the Japanese fans waiting for the drama.
Hi everyone, I am Donghae, Mr Hedgehog from Panda & Hedgehog. Panda & Hedgehog will be seeing everyone soon, please watch well. We have a promise here, please watch happily.

EunHae - 130611 韩Fun Magazine

HanFun Mag: Why did you choose this song?

EH: Oppa Oppa has received a lot of love from everybody so I would like to try this style again. I felt that the Japanese fans will like it very much when I heard this song for the first time. I was very happy during the recording of the song and the mv and also look forward to everyone like this song.

DH: We had many backup songs for the second track but why do we pick this song. We often listen to Japanese songs and thought that there aren't many songs with this style, there is freshness in it. We had a good impression of it from the first time listening to it. We thought the Japanese fans will like it so we picked it.

HanFun Mag: Oppa Oppa was released both in Korea and Japan, why is I Wanna Dance releasing only in Japan?

EH: Oppa Oppa has received a lot of love from everyone, so we were thinking what sort of gift to give to the Japanese fans. So we produced I Wanna Dance for the Japanese fans first, if there are opportunities, we will consider releasing a Korean version.

DH: Super Junior has performed a lot in Asia and around the world. We don't really have a lot of chances to see the Japanese fans. This time we are greeting the Japanese fans with apologies (for waiting so long). We want to let everyone see a different side of us, so we made a Japanese single. Of course! We are very thankful to fans.

HanFun: I Wanna Dance is a song about asking a girl to dance in a club. This song has incredible choice of lyrics.

EH: Really? Like 'Miss~ Tonight', I think lyrics like these are interesting. The fans will feel that these are interesting lyrics too. If everybody sings it in the concert with us, we will be very happy!

DH: Very interesting lyrics, I remembered them immediately! It's important to be interesting.

EH: Liar! Donghae couldn't remember it, he was memorizing them in the plane from Korea to Japan.

DH: (laughs) To be honest, it was a little hard. But I really felt that it is interesting when I was memorizing it.

EH: It is indeed interesting. 'Miss~ tonight~' is interesting too, and others like 'men who say sweet nothings', 'power of adrenaline'. These interesting lyrics are added into the song in different parts. How did he/she come up with such interesting lyrics? I must ask him/her when we eat together.

HanFun: The MV is interesting, both of you dance a lot, do you feel tired during the shoot?

EH: We shot the MV for 2 days and 2 nights, the atmosphere was great and we didn't feel tired. But I am indeed old now! My waist felt painful in the middle of the shoot. We were very happy and we want to show new things.

DH: Eunhyuk and me don't sweat a lot normally. Why did we sweat so much this time? We look like we just had a shower after just dancing it once. We spent a lot of time trying to dry the sweat.

HanFun: It feels like you yearn for the feeling of dancing, it looks interesting.

EH: About the types of dances, we have included dance steps which we have done before and some rock dance styles. I like this kind of dance, it's like remembering the past.

HanFun: Let's talk about the new album you are releasing on 24 July.

EH: We are still recording it so we are not sure how the album will turn out. This is our first Japanese album, listen to the album and you will know what kind of group SJ is. More people will know about our music. I think it is an album that will be well-liked. We will prepare it well! Donghae and me want to show everyone a side that is different from SJ, please anticipate.

HanFun: You will be having a concert in Tokyo Dome on 27/28 July.

EH: When we know that we will have a concert there, we were very excited, previously we went back deeply touched by the fans. This time, we will be as touched too. Looking forward to it, we are preparing hard for it too. Of course, we will have new stages for this concert, please anticipate.

DH: We will show a great performance for the waiting fans. If fans can recieve happiness and be touched from our performances, we will be excited/touched too.

HanFun: Last message for readers.

EH: It has been a long time, thank you for waiting for our new production. We are looking forward to our promotion too and will also create more chances to meet everyone in future. We will be very happy if we recieve a lot of cheering here.

DH: Thank you everyone for waiting so long. Eunhyuk and me and also SJ members will come here often for future schedules. Please anticipate. And... Eunhyuk and me may have a concert in Tokyo Dome next year, please anticipate! (laughs)

EH: It has been hard waiting for so long, you must anticipate our concert tour in Tokyo Dome! (laughs)

Siwon - ELLE Magazine

ELLE: What will you be doing if you didn’t become an artiste?
SW: I often discuss this with my parents, i think I will be in a university or overseas studying. I will most probably be a normal worker in a company like my other friends.

ELLE: But you still chose this path?
SW: I think it’s an adventure. In life, anything can be an adventure. Trying a new thing, trying a new image on stage, singing a song of a different genre is all an adventure. You can never know what’s your next step. Even this interview with the Hongkong media is something I have never anticipated.

ELLE: If everyday is an adventure, isn’t life very tense for you?
SW: Because I am adventurous and like to try new things, I enjoy the process. I seldom feel stress about it. When you challenege a new thing, you might fail in it but you might also learn many things from it. It’s how you adjust your atittude towards it. Like if you want to set sail in the sea, you must be prepared to run into storms.

ELLE: Your celebrity career seems to be smooth sailing, have you come across any storms?
SW: Everyone makes mistakes. What upsets me is causing problems to members, family or working partners because of my mistakes. But when I come across problems, I face them with a positive atittude. You might not believe this but I read books about life or how to solve life problems. From there, I learn many new thinking.

ELLE: Is there anything else you wish to challenge?
SW: I would like to try different roles. As long as it’s a different role, a role that nobody thought of, I would like to try even if it’s from a small independant movie production house. I want to be Korea’s Al Pacino, to be not limited by certain roles or my image. Actually KOD was very interesting but I had a hard time filming it as the role is very different from myself.

ELLE: What are your concerns when choosing a script?
SW: The first feeling you have when you are reading a script is very important. A good script will not bore you and you will finish reading it in one go. If you find yourself distracted and doing other things while reading, then the script probably isn’t a good one.

ELLE: Many men envy your body and abs. Do you spend a lot of time exercising?
SW: Actually I am born like this… joking. I exercise with the members whenever I have time and I have a diet list for my meals. I don’t have a lot of free time, if I don’t exercise, don’t manage it properly, I will gain weight quickly. If I know I have a photoshoot on a certain day, I will not eat anyting that day, else I will have a tummy (small words, I guessed it) easily. But exercising has to go hand in hand with rest. I read an article which said that exercising when you are tired will hurt the liver.

ELLE: What do you do on your day off?
SW: I rarely have time to rest. When I have a day off, I wake up at 6 or 7am. And then… I go back to sleep. After waking up I eat and meet up with friends to drink or drink with my boss. I want to travel very much but I don’t have time. If there is time, I would like to travel around the world and go to a warm place for surfing. But I probably have to wait till when I am with my manager, so I can steal my passport and air ticket and escape immediately.

ELLE: You have little time to enjoy your single life?
SW: Firstly, I have no time, my manager is aware too, I don’t even get to rest on Christmas. It’s hard to find a girl who can understand this kind of hectic life. Even if there is, I will feel that it’s unfair for the girl. It’s not that I enjoy single life, I just don’t have a choice.

ELLE: So do you spend a lot of time with your family? You are very protective of your family’s privacy
SW: I stay with my parents now and we go to church every week. I will also find time to exercise with my father.

ELLE: 5 hours of photoshoot and interview has ended. Korean entertainment industry is very protective of their artistes’ privacy. Questions for this interview have been screened by his manager. At the last question, Siwon suddenly added ‘Since you have made the trip all the way here, do just ask me if you have anymore questions. You can ask me anything’. Since Siwon doesn’t mind, we shall ask directly.

ELLE: There are many rumours regarding you especially on your wealth. It is said that your parents are in the higher management of a multi-national company and that your mum is a diplomat.
SW: DI..PLO..MAT?? Actually my family is a normal family, not that wealthy but it’s true my family is strict, most korean families are like this I think. Actually not only Korean celebrities, most celebrities do not want to reveal their private lives. This is to protect the people around you. Since they are not celebrities, we have the responsibility to carefully protect them.

ELLE: You took 6 years to graduate from college, why did it take so long?
SW: It’s already great that I can even graduate. It was really difficult. I need to accumulate credits but I have to go to so many schedules at the same time, it was hard. So please include this: Thank you very much to the lecturers who let me graduate.

ELLE: Didn’t your classmates take special care of you? Taking notes and doing homework for you.
SW: No….! I hope there was but no, there was nothing. All my homework and reports were done solely by me.

ELLE: You are going to enlist soon. Are you worried it will affect your career?
SW: All Korean men have to serve the military. I believe I will learn new things in the process so I am not worried. Maybe from this process I can present a new me to everyone.

ELLE: What’s your goal in your career?
SW: I would like to become a person who can represent Korea and be able to shine brightly on others (means bringing positivity to others). Actually I am slowly progressing it. If I do it right, I will have more influence, then I will be able to do more good things.

Leeteuk - 130502 Army FM Full Transcript

MC1: I heard that both of you went for shooting practice today. How was it? MC Kim?

MC2: I had 2 rounds today and each round had 18 hits.

MC1: We should applause for you!

LT: Aaah. Should we applause for this kind of standard?

MC1: Of course, how about our soldier Park Jungsu?

LT: I am an extremist so I must be the top. Therefore I am number 1. I have 19 hits! I did not disappoint my title as the shooting king of new recruits.

MC2: Seriously...

MC2 talking about the difference between the rifles K1 and K2.

LT: Keke.. You really look like a soldier. Kekeke....

MC2 (ignoring him): Their lengths are different. We have put in effort for the shooting today and so we are the top 2 shooters.

LT: Hahahaha....

MC1: Both of you are the top shooters in our team. I guess you guys will do well too in other teams?

LT: Of course. The other teams look so happy after hitting 11-12 shots, I guess they have to work harder. Hehe.

LT: Isn't there a show about 'my son going for army'? That show was recorded in the 306 platoon when I was enlisting. I return there not long after enlisting and every time I went there, I felt like the nightmare of enlistment came back. (laughs)

MC1: The two of you have gotten closer because of the musical.

MC2: Of course and Park Jungsu first class soldier.... is indeed someone deep. Just like an onion, layer by layer you peel them off to discover his charms. I still need to discover further. Now we are closer and we can see eye to eye on some matters.

LT: If others ask me what is my greatest gain in the army, I will say that it is to know MC Kim. He is someone whom I can only see on TV and  movies, I didn't expect to become close with him. As a hyung, he has also given me a lot of advices. I didn't think much of him when I was watching 'xxx' (movie name). keke...

MC2: That movie is really dis-spiriting.

MC1: Yes, MC Kim often plays the bad guys in movies.

LT: Yes, so I used to think that he is the worst of the worse of the worse, the worst bad guy. In real life, he is really different. I hope that he will still be like a real hyung to me after getting discharged. I visited MC Kim's forums before enlisting.

MC2: Why are you doing this?!

LT: And I found out that he is actually a romantic person.

MC1: Soldier Ji Hyun-woo who is also in the musical told me that he looks very manly but he is also very girly at times, throwing tantrums.

LT: He is not very manly, but very womanly! He loves to play basketball a lot. If we were tired during rest time and didn't want to play basketball with him, he will throw a tantrum and not talk to us. If we play basketball with him and he loses, he will run back alone.

Leeteuk said that The Promise has given him confidence for doing musicals.

Kim Mu-Yeol commented that Leeteuk is so good at acting despite not being an actor. He says that idols nowadays can do everything, is there anything they can't do?

Leeteuk mentioned that even though they are doing a radio show now, everyone in the department area is wearing military uniforms, looking very serious, it is very different from what he used to work with. It's too formal, he can't believe it's a radio station.

Talking about people he is thankful to in the army, Leeteuk mentioned Rain.

LT: He is very kind to us to the extend that the others will show their unhappiness on their faces. A few days ago, Seven came in so I prepared to teach him some things that I have learnt. But when I look at his eyes, tears flowed from my own eyes.

MC2: (laughing) We were are Life Center, when Seven came in, he didn't sit down, just stood there by the side with his shoulders shaking.

Leeteuk taught Mu-Yeol what kind of voices is required for radio on certain timings. He told Mu-Yeol that he is suitable for 5am radio show.

MC2: How do I sleep??

LT: Don't sleep! Hehe..

Leeteuk asked Mu-Yeol to do aegyo and chided him for always playing the roles of bad guys. Mu-Yeol then said that he really gets a fright from this dongsaeng sometimes but he knows what this dongsaeng likes so he will play along.

Leeteuk said that he formally introduced himself to Mu-Yeol when he first saw him, saying that he is the second-class soldier, Park Jungsu. But Mu-Yeol didn't respond and just sat there reading his script, so Leeteuk thought that actors are like this and had a bad impression of them. After the practice, Leeteuk and Mu-Yeol were in the coach on the way back to camp. Suddenly Mu-Yeol asked in a low voice 'How old are you?' and Leeteuk replied '30'.

Then Mu-Yeol said that they will be together from then on and if Leeteuk has any difficulties, they will resolve it together. Working well together. Leeteuk felt touch and almost cried and Mu-Yeol poked fun at him calling him a cry baby.

MC2: At that time, Park Jungsu was still a second class soldier. When we heard that he is joining the musical, we actually welcome him in our hearts. But we decided to do a hidden camera so we unconditionally made the environment hostile for him. We have made preparation to make the atmosphere hostile and scary but when he came in, his face was red, trembling like a puppy, telling us he felt terrible, we wanted to make a scary atmosphere but seeing him like this, we can only pretend to read the script.

LT: I was running a 40c fever at that time. Lost 5 kg, so when we were running through the script, I cried easily.

Talking about girl groups in the army...

LT: Talking about girl groups, it's easy to be in the same pace as your sunbaes. Jung Yunhak is already the head of the soldiers! He likes Sistar so I had to say that Sistar is the best but I really don't have a favourite girl group.

MC1: He still can't let go of his Super Junior's identity.

MC2: I would like to see Park Jungsu do the 13-member Sorry Sorry choreography alone.

LT: I will probably die of tiredness if I do it alone.

MC1: When we play basketball, Park Jungsu likes to tell cold jokes. I used to think that Park Jungsu is a funny guy but the jokes he tells are not funny at all. However, Park Jungsu is telling jokes to cheer the team so I pretended that the jokes are funny.

Leeteuk mentioned that Mu-Yeol's body size doesn't look like a Korean soldier, he looks more like an American soldier and his skin is very fair. MC1 said that judging from Leeteuk's hands, he thought that Leeteuk is very skinny but when he realized that Leeteuk has got great chest muscles. He thought that Leeteuk's chest muscles are really beautiful. Mu-Yeol commented that Leeteuk looks skinny but he has a great body, he looks better topless than clothed.

LT: When Mu-Yeol gets promoted to the head of soldiers, I will take photos of his body muscles and show everyone.

MC2: Ok...

MC1: Park Jungsu told me that muscles should be revealed after getting the promotion, so both of you will do it together!

Then Leeteuk tells MC1 that if MC1 gets promoted, he must do a CF topless. In the end they all agreed that if they get promoted, they will come to the radio show wearing only singlet... if the staff agree.

Lastly, Leeteuk said that he wants to learn Japanese well then learn Mandarin. As for English..... zzz..
